Christmas 2010!

I am not very good at this steady blogging thing. It takes me a month to have any free time it seems, but when that free time comes around, I have made a list of all the things I want to put on our blog. I've decided it is kind of like a journal, and will be good for us to look back on in many years.

So for starters! CHRISTMAS!!!!!!

When we were younger, my parents always had a special pair of pajamas for each of the kids to open on Christmas Eve. Eric and I have been very excited to carry on the tradition with Parker and Preslie.

I have a hard time waiting around for Christmas. And contrary to what it might seem, it's not because I want to open presents. I get so excited to see others open up their presents. We spent months, LITERALLY, finding presents for our kids and getting them on good deals, and I was so excited to see their faces when they opened them. We ended up opening presents a few days early. It worked out okay actually because we always go to my parents house and open presents with the extended family Christmas morning.

Both of our kids were extremely spoiled! It helps when you take months to prepare. And we figure we can handle spoiling them with a higher number of presents now, while they aren't wanting things like cars and computers and things that are expensive.

From us Parker got clothes - which may sound lame, but this kid LOVES his clothes - Toy Story movies, Ice Age movies, Lincoln Logs (and now he constantly asks us to build his house), more games on his iTouch, PlayDo build a hamburger (it combines two of his favorite things), a new suit, and some littler toys. His big toy that he got to open on Christmas morning was a BUZZ LIGHTYEAR! He now jumps from chairs and counters and couches, pretty much anything he can climb on top of, and yells "Iffity and beeun" which we have figured out most likely translates to "Infinity and Beyond". Parker also got an Imaginext Toy Story from Grammy and Papa Marshall, which he has enjoyed taking apart all over my living room and sitting quietly on the couch and watching me pick up afterwards. I find that I love it though, because he will actually sit and play with it without talking, which for our little boy is impressive. Grandma and Grandpa Lewis got him toys as well, but his favorite present has been a bear that my mom got and sewed matching pajamas for Parker and the bear. We have caught Parker many nights since sitting up in bed late into the night putting the pajamas back on the bear and trying to put the matching ones on himself.

Preslie got LOTS of clothes. We kind of feel like she is in this inbetween toy stage. Like toys are made for "up to 9 months" or "18+ months" and I'm sitting there thinking, she's right inbetween what are we supposed to buy! Thus, she got a lot of clothes, which she needed as well. She got a couple baby dolls, because she is all girl and loves them, new shoes, the toys that throw balls up into the air, play cell phones, and her big toy was a huge wooden box with different things to play with on every side - kind of like you'd find in a doctor's office. It's funny, because this has become one of Parker's favorite things to play with. WE have loved it because it gives her some incentive to stand! FINALLY! :)
Preslie has continued to army crawl around everywhere. She can crawl on all fours, she just prefers not to. When you see how fast she can belly crawl everywhere, you'll see why she doesn't care to get up on her hands and knees. In good news, my floors have never been cleaner. No news yet as to if it's because I shudder knowing what she is licking off the floor or if it's because her belly cleans everything for me.
